To Blacksburg, to Blacksburg we go!

During the first weekend of March, Jan, Lance, Luke & I packed up the car and headed for the ‘Burg. Blacksburg that is… Hokie Birds and friendly folks. We miss living there and we miss The Tracy’s (all seven of them!) so a little road trip was in order.

As I went through my pix/videos today, I made a little iMovie that depicts the weekend highlights.

But before watching the video, here is a brief written recap:

We loaded the trunk…

Lance marched to the car…

After two hours we started to see the familiar signs leading us into Blacksburg (I sang Enter Sandman in my head)…

Lance slept and missed most of them…

When we arrived Lance shopped for a Virginia Tech hat…

Then we could not wait to get to the Tracy’s…

The first thing the kids did was lay on the pavement. Because that is totally normal (?!)…

Then the jumping began (or dancing in Lance’s case)…

The torturing of Luke happened in an instant…

Fiona serenaded Fenton & Lance with her rendition of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on the cello…

Jan read to Lance & Teddy…

Harrison serenaded us with Rachel’s (least) favorite song on the Hairspray soundtrack… “Good morning Baltimore!”

We ate spinach lasagna…

Lance got banned from the kitchen…

The guys had a guy party on the couch… Jan & Ben read…

Then Fiona & I joined in…

Rachel & I talked incessantly…

To our delight, the Mardi Gras-style jumping beans, being Gus & Teddy, jumped some more to the tune of Yankee Doodle on the yellow saxophone…

The next morning was just as action-packed, with so many toys to look at…

Fiona, Harrison, & Fenton played Angry Birds on the iPad while mastering the art of tuning all other sights and sounds in the world out of their consciousness…

Gus & Teddy sat like little directors in their camp chairs…

Lance became victimized by dress-up clothes (Luke was hiding)…

We said good-bye and received the trade-mark Tracy send-off… until the next time…

***

All in all the trip was par for the course. When you visit a house where five children reside you will be entertained, humored, and busy. You learn to expect the unexpected. You learn to roll with the punches. You learn life is really quite simple through the eyes of a child.

Now for the visual recap. Enjoy!
