I recently signed up for National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo) through BlogHer, a media company specialized in blogging and social media. Basically all this means is that I have to publish a blog post everyday throughout the month of October, except Saturday’s and Sunday’s. The theme this month is simply: FALL. I have no idea what blogging every day will be like, but I do know that every single time I write, I learn something new. I’m excited to see what it will be this month. Now come on everybody, FALLow along with me!
For fun, as I tried to find inspiration for today’s post, I turned to my iTunes for help. In sticking the NaBloPoMo theme, I typed in the word “fall” into my music library search bar.
The following seven songs came up in the search:
1. Chill of an early fall by George Straight
2. Fallen by Sarah McLachlan
3. Fallen Angel by Poison
4. Free falling by Tom Petty
5. I can’t help falling in love by U2
6. Let’s fall in love by Frank Sinatra
7. When you’re falling by Peter Gabriel
Only the first song actually referred to fall the season, but I enjoyed listening to the others this morning.
Then I tried to see if I could think of a few others off the top of my head. Three more surfaced, and I listened to them on YouTube.
8. Falling into you by Celion Dion
9. I’m falling even more in love with you by Lifehouse
10. Raindrops keep falling on my head by B.J. Thomas
If I was more motivated I’d do a google search, but I’m feeling pretty lazy today so I’ll stick with my nice even (non to-do) list of ten.
One thing is for sure: whether you are falling in love, falling victim, falling down, falling forward, falling backward, or living in the fall season I bet there’s a song that’ll stir up a memory or a feeling of nostalgia.
Ain’t music great?
And just like that I have a new playlist.
What song’s are in your iTunes that include the word “fall”? Others that come to mind? I’d like to add them to my list.
